This was my first owwm. I purchased this from the original owner (sort of) in 2001 from a news paper ad. I think I paid $150 but not sure. The man I bought it from was in his 80s and used this along with his father in a cabinet shop and then in the gentleman's garage workshop. His name was Bob Jorgenson, grandson of Kristopher Jorgensen (supposedly well known) of Denmark. He was selling it to buy a Grizzly Bench Top since he needed the space and "that Grizzly stuff is top notch" as he put it. I passed up his nice uni-saw (mid 60s)that he wanted $900 for.

This has the original 77-8629 Marathon 1/2 H.P. dual voltage single phase non-reversible capacitor start motor. It also has the original foot feed and a perfect table and base. The pulley set up is the high speed set up with the wide pulley cover and I have the whole unrestored narrow pulley guard, hinge, and rear cast section to add on. I may try to swap with the full wide cast guard if I find someone that wants too but I haven't decided yet. It came with the complete mortise set-up and an extra depth collar, rod and nuts. I also have a morse taper 2 spindle and a shaping? spindle along with the routing spindle. This was obviously well taken care of.

I actually restored this twice. The first time, I had the foot feed on the left side, it interfered with the stroke but looked right. It sat in my basement shop somewhat ignored while I was busy with work. When I went downstairs after a couple years, I noticed that the floor had flooded a number of times and it had surface rust throughout. Shame on me. I took it up to my garage and restored it again. No big deal. I used pictures from owwm to put the foot-feed on the proper side. I use it all the time now. With the addition of my Cincinatti bench press, I plan to make this a dedicated mortiser.
