Purchased this Craftsman-badged planer on a snowy day from a bright and energetic older gentleman in New Hampshire who, from the number of responses he was getting, figured he could get more money for this sale if he wanted, but preferred to sell it to the first caller and have a congenial, low-key transaction. He had not used this planer since he bought a Dewalt portable years ago. The planer needs bearings and other attention. I asked him what the motor was. He had no idea since it had always been tucked away under the planks. All he knew was it runs at 220 volts and has power. The next day I pulled the motor out of its backwoods-style oak plank and iron pipe stand. It's a 3 horse Fairbanks-Morse that weighs in somewhere around 180 pounds. A good strong stand will need to be fabricated for this setup. After pictures to be posted later.
