This one has all the goodies (sliding table, 48" extended rip capacity, handwheel for cranking out the slider, etc.) that we recently attributed to the No. 88-DM. It even has a Douglas Aircraft property tag, and an oil mist system for metal cutting. It also dates from about the same time (1948) that the DM/Douglas Modification was supposedly initiated. Did the guy with the letter stamps get lazy and forget the "M" (Rich Fink advised me that such mistakes often took place) or what? |
