Image Description:
PHILBRICK CUTTER HEAD SETTER.

The Philbrick Cutter Head Co., of Seattle, are finding a very satisfactory sale for their cutter head setter. With it cutter-heads of any make, kind or style can be accurately set in the filing room, so that when the heads are put back on the planer or matcher no time will be lost in adjusting and no lumber need be wasted in fitting and trying. Two roller gauges, one for tongue and one for groove, go with each setting stand to be used on the adjustable roller arm. On the opposite side of the arbor which holds the head is another gauge holder for any special pattern wanted, such as odd size of T and G, ship-lap, tank staves, silo stock and various other material.

Thin pieces of saw plate or sheet iron can be ground or filed to the shape desired and held by the sliding bolt and thumbscrew. The head arbor, besides rotating, has lateral adjustment as well. It is held securely by the hand wheel at the top for tightening the cutters in the head. No wrenches are needed, inasmuch as all parts are held secure and adjusted by hand wheels. Mr. Philbrick expects a good demand for this setting stand as soon as its many advantages become generally known.
