Messrs. Howard, of Bedford, also exhibit, for the first time, we believe, a vertical engine and boiler, which we illustrate. This in a strong, straightforward piece of work, not likely to need much repair. The cylinder in 8 in. diameter, and 10 in. stroke. Steel is used freely throughout.
