A new 8-in. centre lathe, Fig. 273, has been recently put on the market by Mr. John Tangye, of Manchester. It embodies ideas suggested by his twenty years' experience in this class of work. The lathe is constructed of one size, but in four types; namely, with solid and with hollow spindle, and with and without the gap in each form, thereby accommodating people who have a strong preference for either English or American designs. These lathes embody some of the best features of those of each type. |
