Image Description:
The accompanying illustration shows the "Badger" Open Hopper Jacket Portable Gasoline Engine made by the Christensen Engineering Company. The design of this engine, as the illustration shows is well balanced, and the engine is compact, of medium weight, yet strong and substantial and will withstand the hardest wear. It is built on the hopper or open jacket system, making it particularly adapted for outdoor use. It needs but a few pails of water for cooling, has no large water tank to fill, and no pipes, fittings or valves to leak or freeze; no cooling pumps or fans to get out of order. The makers claim that this engine will start easily even in the coldest weather. It is made in 12 different sizes from 2 to 28-h.p. If desired a portable saw rig with either sliding or tilting table saw attachment can be furnished with this engine. The manufacturers of this engine also make a stationary horizontal engine and a semi-portable engine mounted on skids, each in a number of different sizes and designed to burn gas, gasoline or oil. These engines are adapted for use in small shops, irrigation plants, farms and plantations, and in fact wherever a moderate size and reliable power plant is required.
