Triumph Electric Company — Manufactures a line of motors ranging from 3½ H. P., 4 pole, 1,200 R. P. M., to 200 H. P., 6 pole, 500 R. P. M. They also build a line of steel frame machines of the 2-arm bracket type that can be mounted in any position and has any variety of protection. Six frames are bipolar from ½ to 5 H. P. and 8 frames are 4 pole from 7½ to 40 H. P. They can be wound shunt, series, and compound, thus becoming besides constant-speed motors also varying- and adjustable-speed motors. An illustration of this type of motor is given in Fig. 102. These machines are also used for belted generators from ½ to 35 K. W. |
