Holizer-Cabot Company — The belted generators manufactured by this company, become, with proper windings, their constant-speed motors of 1½ to 100 H. P. These frames, when employing a heavy compound winding, become varying-speed motors, suitable for elevator service, in capacities from 5 to 45 H. P. In this line, however, the base and pedestals are dispensed with and the bearings are held by brackets bolted to the frame. Their type C machine, shown in Fig. 91, gives them sizes from ¼ to 10 H. P., to be run on 110-, 220-, or 500-volt circuits. They can be arranged in any position and for any degree of ventilation. They can be built as adjustable-speed motors for a speed variation of 4 to 1 by field weakening. This company also places a number of motors of very small sizes upon the market. |
