Image Description:
AURORA TOOL WORKS, AURORA, IND. — The Aurora Tool Works make radial drills in one size only— 80-inch—which is illustrated in Fig. 1, page 308, their product being principally upright drills. The machine is modern in design and construction and is stiff and rigid. The cone pulley has four-inch face, is 16 inches in diameter and is geared to give one turn of the spindle to three of the cone, thus making a very powerful drive. The spindle is ij^ inch in diameter. The column is of box section and the saddle, which is gibbed to it, is raised and lowered by power. The drill-head is moved along the arm by means of a crank at the end of the arm and a double threaded screw. The arrangement of the drive and the feed mechanism are so clearly shown in the illustration that a further description will not be necessary.
