The advertiser, Munn & Co., was a patent agency and also the publisher of Scienticif American. It seems unlikely that they manufactured the lathe, but we have had no luck trying to figure out who "Alcott" was. It does not seem to have been patented, which is rather odd given Munn's obvious interest and ability. |
