This machine is made by the Indiana Machine Works, Ft. Wayne, Ind. It has steel spindles, one inch above and 1½ inch in diameter, below the table. The table may be wood or iron, as desired. The spindle bearings ae long, close together and connected by yokes; these yokes adjust in planed slides, with gibs for wear. The adjusting screws admit of very fine adjustment; they are inside of column and therefore out of the dust and dirt. The iron table is 38x46 inches, the wooden one being a trifle larger, either affords plenty of room, which is a good idea. The countershaft has take-up bearings and a differential loose pulley. |
