There is an intriguing connection between the Paris motor maker Legendre Frères and the Eck Dynamo & Machine Co. A 1913 Eck ad shows motors that are identical to that shown in a 1907 Legendre ad. It seems most plausible that these motors were designed by Legendre and after Mr. Eck had left the Eck company, and as his motor designs became outdated the company licensed the Legendre designs.
The ads shown here show a possible connection between Charles Eck (or a relative) and the motor industry in Paris. Thanks to a French correspondent for providing these ads to us. |
