The bed is of the box type, carried down to the floor throughout its whole length and the hexagonal turret is mounted directly upon cross guides on the main carriage slide. In the particular machine illustrated the swing over the bed is 30 in. and over the carriage 19¾ in. From the chuck face to the front of the carriage the extreme distance is 30 in. and the length of the bed is 7 ft. 7 in. The spindle speeds range from 14.7 to 412 revolutions per minute, and for each of these speeds there are provided four rates of feed ranging from 1/8 to 1/32 in. |
