As seen in patent 1,541,370. This Setting-Grinding-Balancing machine was heavily advertised by H. C. Dodge for a couple of years and then it seems to have disappeared.
The S-G-B unit required a planer or jointer whose cutterhead(s) could easily be removed from the machine. It may have been superseded by in-place grinders even though those could not perform balancing. |
