Office of A. Bradbury Manufacturer of Teed’s Improved Water-Wheel, Planers, Matchers, Mill Gearing, Corn Crackers, Horse and Dog Powers &c. Established 1845. Guilford, N. Y., April 5 1872 Mr. John Mayne Dr Sir Your favor of 2 (unclear), &c by Mr Leed_ Perhaps I had better loan you the original wood patterns of buckets & let you make X castings from them_ I shall probably want something of the kind in return. This seems to be all you speak of at present. The hub or centre in these wood pattern XX cast from that _ I did not reply earlier because our Mr Merchant was absent, & he knew more about the pattern for large boring machine than anyone else _ He says he believes we have all the patterns & thinks yourself a machinist had better come & look them over as some changes may be suggested that would be useful. I hardly know what castings are going to be worth but if pig iron continues to go up _ casting will be likely to be worth something too Yours Truly Andrew Bradbury Mr Leed talks of coming over soon To your place & can bring patterns with him |
