The problem of saw gumming in small mills, especially those of the portable type, is frequently a matter of annoyance and often of considerable loss of time. Mills of this type cannot usually afford to invest in high-priced automatic gummers and depend largely upon the local saw shop to do the work of this class. A satisfactory means by which to do this work in the mill saves much time and trouble and is readily adopted if of reasonable price and simple and effective operation.
The “Crescent” saw gummer, made by the Riverside Machine Works, Kokomo, Ind., is designed for this work. The manufacturers say sales of this saw gummer are remarkable. |
