This machine is designed to be used in doing the drilling work for centers or hubs of large built-up or segment wheels. The innermost circle of the spindle is 13” radius and the outermost, 43” radius; vertical travel of the spindle is 15”; the machine is back-geared, has power feed and balance spindle. The bore in the sleeve is 10" diameter and 20” long and can be placed over a stump with flanged base, or four cross-arms, as is desired, which stump piece can be clamped or bolted to the work in hand. One setting of this machine will finish up a wheel complete, and as it is driven by a rope, work can be located in any convenient place about the shop, or in the yard, and the power taken to it by the rope. The machine is of excellent design and workmanship, and is another valuable addition to the machine tools constructed by the Universal Radial Drill Co., Cincinnati, O.
