A diamond truing device for truing the convex side of the wheel forms a part of the wheel guard.
The grinding wheel head may be adjusted vertically and horizontally to bring the wheel to the work and the cut is adjusted by rotating the hob on its axis through a worm wheel and worm.
The table is reciprocated by hand through a rack and pinion and hand wheel.
To insure that the hob will run true, it may be necessary to grind the faces of some of the ?utes more than others.
To enable the high teeth of the hob to be indicated a testing ?xture is provided. This is carried on the table and consists of slides supporting an indicating ?nger and a dial with a multiplying pointer, which reads in thousandths of an inch.
