Image Description:
New Buffing Lathe and Belt Strapping Attachment

We herewith give illustrations of a New Buffing Lathe and Belt Strapping Attachment, made by the Diamond Emery Wheel and Machine Co., Providence, R. I.

The arrangement shown admits the use of a buffing wheel at one end of the spindle, (covered with hood) and also the use of a belt covered with emery for irregular work shown.

The jointed standard on which the small pulley is attached is fastened firmly to the floor leaving the upper part to swing towards the machine, when the operator desires to shift or take off the belt, and from the machine when the belts require tightening, where it can be held firmly by the nut and lever provided to hold the standard above the joint. The belt strapping attachment is made and used upon any machine having ¾, 1 or 1¼ inch spindle, 13-inch swing. The spindle shown is made any length. The head stands 7½ inches from base to centre of spindle, it has cone pulleys, running 3½ inch belt, and a patent device for excluding emery dust.
