Crescent P-24 Single Surface Planer
The Crescent Machine Co., Leetonia, Ohio, announces a new 24x8-inch single surface planer of streamline design. An outstanding feature is the Reeves variable speed feed works with dial indicator to show rate of feed. A finger tip control panel provides start and stop push button for the cutter head, and start, stop and brake for the feed mechanism. The latter button is oversize and may be contacted from any angle. Full magnetic starters with overload and no voltage protection are used.
The P-24 planer is completely enclosed with hinged aluminum guards. Lubrication throughout is by grease gun. It is direct motor driven with 5, 7 1/2 or 10 h.p. motor on the cutter head and a l 1/2 h.p. motor on the feed.
The machine can be equipped with the latest design motor driven knife grinder and knife jointing device. The grinder is used for sharpening the knives without removing them from the cutter head. The knife jointing is used to true the cutters to a perfect cutting circle after grinding.
