In 1901 the H. Fraser Manufacturing Co.—possibly manufacturing in Beloit, Wisc., but headquartered in Chicago—was manufacturing a new spiral-knife cabinet planer. The company seems to have disappeared almost immediately.
In 1895, Harvey Fraser of Beloit was granted a patent for a wood planer. Presumably he was the founder of this company. There is nothing in the patent that is specific to a spiral head: it covered mechanisms for adjusting the cutter-head and feed rollers. The one we have seen does not mention a patent.
