In 1921, engineer Andrew Wyzenbeek and a group of consulting engineers formed Wyzenbeek & Staff to provide mechanical engineering services. In 1929 the business incorporated as Wyzenbeek & Staff, Inc., and at about the same time introduced the Wyco and Wycoflex line of flexible shaft machines and a small scrollsaw. The flexible shaft products quickly became the company's primary focus.
By 2000 it seems that the company had become the WYCO Tool Company, with a focus on vibratory products, e.g., for concrete work; there is no sign of the flexible shaft product line, which had apparently been sold off. By 2018 the Wyco flexible shaft line was being produced by Elwood Corp.
