Information Sources

  • Seen in an owwm.org forum discussion: a 17-inch drill press with label "Hi-Duty / Taylor Manufacturing Co. / Milwaukee, Wisc. / Model F-400".
  • 1932 trademark registration, "Taylor Manufacturing Corporation, Milwaukee, Wis. Machinery and machine parts, 295,504; July 5; Serial No. 324,574; published Apr. 26, 1932. Class 23." The mark is the word "HI-EFF" in a sans-serif font. The company address was 2330 W. Clybourn Street, Milwaukee, and the corporation consisted of J. L. Taylor, A. C. Velten, and K. F. Swallow. The signature is by John Leonard Taylor. This provides a positive connection between this man and some patents he was awarded for drill press chucks and other items.
