The Master Woodcraft & Hobby Machine Co., located in the Los Angeles suburb of Harbor City, sold a line of hobby-grade machinery. The company's early beginnings were in late 1978, and the company seems to have largely disappeared by 1993. At least some, and likely all, of their machines were made in Taiwan. This site only allows machines made in USA, Canada and the UK and if we are able to confirm that all of this company's products were made elsewhere then this entry will be deleted.

Trademark registrations include Wood Master and Super Woodbuilders The Wood Master filing was made in 1982 and then abandoned. The Super Woodbuilders filing was made in 1986, granted in 1987, and cancelled in 1993. "Wood Master" was first used 1978-12-12 according to their filing, and Super Woodbuilders was first used 1986-07-28. Filing agent was Vivian M. Bezic, who is referred to elsewhere on the web as Vivian Toubes Bezic and Vivian M. Toubes.
Articles of incorporation were filed 1981-05-14. The company is no longer active. Company president at time of filing was Norbert Toubes, who was also involved in filings for Grace & Carson, Inc.; Turnmaster Corp.; and Friendly Manufacturers Corp.
October 1981 Popular Mechanics, in a list of brochures available: "5-in-1 Home Workshop—Illustrated brochure describe how the Wood Master Multi-Tool combines five basic precision woodworking tool in one space-saving, versatile piece of equipment. Includes complete specifications. From Master Woodcraft & Hobby Machine Co. Free."
June 1983 Popular Mechanics has a review of the Master Woodcraft 5-in-1 machine", a Shopsmith clone.
September 1983 Popular Science has review of Shopsmith-style combination machines, including the Wood Master. The article notes that that machine was made in Taiwan. The article also notes some quality deficiencies.
June 1985 Popular Mechanics lists "Master Woodcraft & Hobby Machine Co., 800 Spruce Lake Dr., Harbor City, Calif. 90710" as a lathe manufacturer/supplier.
A 1993 Official Gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office list this company, "DBA Master Woodcraft Machine Co.: 1,437,764 CANC. INT. CL. 7."
