  • The EAIA Directory of American Toolmakers has the following entry for this firm: "The company did not make all of the tools they marked and sold, but they were manufacturers. They used an 'Est. 1842' date and it appears that Wilkinson probably did start under his own name at that time; it is not clear when the '& Co.' was added. One tool they do appear to have made was a draw knife with an 1895 patent. They also made several micrometers patented between 1883 to 1886 by Merrick M. Barnes; ca. 1890, the rights to those were bought by Brown & Sharpe. They sold a line of foot powered scroll saws, lathes, drills, grinders, etc.; a pin vise; a saw clamp and filer; plumb bobs, etc."
