Abstract:
This invention relates to certain improvements upon the patent granted to Gilbert Bradford, No. 115928, June 13, 1871; and it consists in the peculiar construction of the steam dome, in combination with the steam-encased cylinder, whereby the latter is relieved from the direct pressure of the entire subjacent body of steam, and its tendency to become strained and loosened from the dome obviated, and the consequent leakage of steam prevented.
Claim:
The steam-dome A, having a top, F, provided with an opening, c, in combination with a steam-encased cylinder, having a bottom plate, d, and a corresponding opening, e, substantially as and for the purpose described.

Abstract:
My invention relates to an improved mounting for portable engines, designed with a view to simplicity, cheapness, and substantial construction and it consists in the improved means of supporting the boiler and its engine upon wheels, and strengthening and bracing the same in its attachment.
Claim:
The combination, with the boiler and the wheels, of the independent axle C, terminating in carved plates bolted to the boiler, the reach D pivoted to the front axle and bolted to the boiler in the rear, the bars D' and the braces E E'. |

Abstract:
My invention relates to a newly-designed engine-frame and it consists in the peculiar shape and configuration of the frame, substantially as herein described and claimed.
Claim:
The design for an engine-frame herein described and shown, the same consisting of the horizontal base having thereupon a. vertical plane, a second vertical plane beyond and to the rearward of the first, which it curves at one end to meet, said second plane being likewise on a horizontal base which curves to meet the first-mentioned base, and a cylindrical figure surmounting these vertical planes, one end of the figure being completely cylindrical, while the remainder is broken away by a symmetrical outline which loses its distinctness in the second vertical plane, substantially as described and shown. |
