      Founded in 1872 as the successor to the Union Agricultural Works, by James Edwin Taylor and his brother, George A. Taylor. They began to manufacture steam engines of their patented design in 1875.

      In 1877 they bought out the Utica Steam Engine Co. who were successors to Wood & Mann of Utica, NY. and began to manufacture their vertical boiler model steam engine.

      The firm moved to Chambersburg in 1884 and went out of business in 1891.
