The Ashland Division of Electro Engineering Products Co., Inc. of Chicago made Ashland branded home-shop bench grinders. The bench grinders are branded only "Ashland". Grinder model 1780 instructions seen on eBay state "powered by General Electric" and illustrate a flexible shaft kit with a small chuck. This brand apparently began with Electro's purchase of Sloan Ashland Co., a marketing organization, announced Mar. 1955. Electro Engineering advertised power tools and other products by the Sloan Ashland Division.
