Lancaster Machine & Knife Works ca. 1912
This firm was established in 1896 by Andrew Cant of Cant Brothers (Galt, Ontario). Their specialty was, and is, knives for woodworking machinery; they reportedly made machinery in their early years.

- An online history of Lancaster, NY, says, "The plant of the Lancaster Machine Knife Works on Court Street burned to the ground on March 12, 1899."
- A corner brace (i.e., a hand tool) from this company, with a 1905 patent date, has been seen.
- New York State records show that the name "Lancaster Machine Knife Works, Inc." was registered in 1925. It is now doing business as Lancaster Knives, Inc.
