Founded in 1876 in Lebanon, NH, Kendrick & Davis manufactured watch-makers' supplies, including polishing lathes. They got into the business of making motors and speed controllers. They made fan motors that were sold under the name of Porter & Kent Motors. The business continued for more than a century until 1978 when Herbert Peterson purchased the business. The motor business was renamed K&D Magmotor and relocated to Worcester, MA. The firm is now called Magmotor Technologies Inc.
In the 1920s Kendrick & Davis manufactured various house-branded products sold by Pennant Watch Supply Corp., of New York City. We have seen a few examples of a watch maker's lathe that is marked only with the name "Pennant"; these machines have surfaced in the USA and it seems likely that these lathes were a Pennant Watch Supply product. A couple of these lathes came with a K&D speed controller, and it seems plausible that the lathes themselves may have been made by Kendrick & Davis as well, but we have not been able to confirm—or refute—this idea.
