Internal combustion engine maker Goold, Shapley & Muir, Ltd. was founded in 1892 by Edward L. Goold, William H. Shapley, John Muir, and Henry Yeigh, when they took over Goold & Co.. Their early product lineup included water tanks and grain mills; gasoline engines were added in 1897. The firm went out of business in the mid-1930s.
