Machine for Bending Sheet Metal
|
Oliver Pocock |
Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH |
Abstract:
My invention relates more particularly to that class of machines in which rollers are used, between which sheets of metal are passed to cause said sheets to assume a curved form, but is capable of other and more general application.
The nature of my invention consists in the combined means for approximating and separating the rollers, so as to allow the device to accommodate metal of different thicknesses, and also to bend the metal in a curve of any desired radius, and the means for adjusting and holding said rollers at any distance apart that may be desired.
Claim:
In a sheet metal bending machine, the combination, substantially as specified, of the standard C, stationary roller A', and vertical movable roller A, the adjusting screws b, with the movable roller A, eccentric-bearings B', notched and index arcs F', the cored handle E, and spring-actuated catches F, said handles being secured to the eccentric-bearings B', and the catches F, adapted to engage in the notches in the arcs F', whereby the roller A is adjustably movable in relation to the rollers A A', for the purposes set forth. |
