Tool-holder for lathes
|
Henry W. Hathorn |
Grinnell, IA |
The inventor established the Hathorn Foundry & Machine Co. in Mason City, IA, in 1890, manufacturing a helve hammer, but sold that business in 1904 to A. A. Koch who renamed it to the Vulcan Iron Works. Both Koch and Hathorn soon relocated to Grinnell where Koch operated a different business making power hammers, the Grinnell Mfg. Co. We do not know what Hathorn was doing in Grinnell. |
