Abstract:
This invention has relation to that type of grinding machines in which the spindle is carried by a rotating cylinder, means being provided for eccentrically adjusting the spindle with reference to the cylinder, to thereby, give to the grinding-wheel a planetary movement, thereby adapting it especially to the grinding of the interior of cylinders and other hollow objects; and the object of this invention is to improve and simplify the means for supporting the spin-die and also for adjusting its eccentricity.
Claim:
In a grinding machine of the class set forth, a cylinder journaled on the headstock and provided with a pair of flat-faced members at its rear end and also a pair of fiat-faced members at its forward end, a spindle structure extending through the cylinder and having the rear end of its housing fitted between the flat-faced members at the forward end and another part of its housing slidingly fitted between the fiat-faced members of the forward end of the cylinder, and means for radially adjusting the spindle structure.
