In the 1880s, E. A. Walker, formerly a partner in Walker Bros., manufactured metalworking machinery, including "Richard's patent combination planer and shaper". By 1890, that planer and shaper, "with improvements by E. A. Walker", was being manufactured by Pedrick & Ayer.
