Founded by Lewis S. Brown to Manufacture his patent Gas Engines, ca 1899-1902. The firm went into receivership in 1908 and subsequently merged with the Cochran Co. of Lorain, OH. The merged firm became the Brown-Cochran Co. of Lorain, OH.
