The Union Iron Works of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, were operated by Wm. H Hiner & Co. from at least 1866 to 1875. Their product line included steam engines and sawmill machinery. Their sawmill machinery included a number of patented designs that were licensed from others, such as Valentine & Braudreau (or "Bradway") shingle mills, Dicey's gang edger, and Lamb's wire rope sawmill feedworks.
