In May of 1853, Scientific American carried ads from M. Schommaker (sic) & J. M. Cooper of Kingston, NY, attesting that they were "now the sole owners of the patent" and were selling machines and territorial rights. A subsequent article gave the former name as "Schoonmaker". |
