Information Sources

  • Several patents are assigned to this company; the earliest found thus far is from 1885. Most of the patents were granted to William H. Gray, formerly of S. A. Woods Machine Co. A predecessor to that firm was Gray & Woods, but the titular Gray was Solomon S. Gray.
  • Mentioned in 1891 Manufacturer & Builder.
  • According to Planers, Matchers and Molders in America, by the time of the 1897 merger Glen Cove's heavy-duty planer line had "found favor on the Eastern Seaboard."
