In 1868, Peter Beidler was granted a patent for a felly-sawing machine. Kenneth Cope's Carriage and Wagon Makers Machinery and Tools lists Beidler as a manufacturer of such machines but we find no evidence that he ever did so. An article in Scientific American that appeared shortly before the patent was issued described the machine but did not suggest that Beidler (or anyone else) was engaged in manufacturing the machine.
