This firm was in business at least from 1873 to 1887, and probably for longer. They specialized in woodworking machinery, including planers and bandsaws.

  • Mentioned in 1873 and 1874 issues of Manufacturer & Builder
  • Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States, as a maker of woodworking machinery.
  • The 1876 work, Draft-book of Centennial carriages, displayed in Philadelphia, at the International exhibition of 1876, mentions E. & F. Gleason of Philadelphia as an exhibitor of woodworking machinery at the Centennial Exhibition.
  • Double-surface planer ad in the April 1885 issue of "Carpentry and Building".
