In 1808, the Bordentown Foundry & Machine Works was founded by Caleb & Benjamin Field.
The Camden & Amboy Railroad purchases the Bordentown Foundry & Machine Works, in 1832, for use as a railroad repair facility.
The Union Steam Forge is established in 1857 at the Bordentown Foundry & Machine Works factory after being purchased by the brothers Alfred & Lewis Thompson.
The foundry was in operation into the 1920's.
