In June 1894 Arthur Lazell Vandervort, John Vandervort and James Derie Owen, all of Laceyville, Pennsylvania, applied for a patent on a log turner. By 1896 it was being manufactured by A. L. Vandervort. In 1899 it was being manufactured by B. W. Edwards, and by 1913 the Edwards Log Turner was being manufactured by Edwards Manufacturing Co., also of Laceyville.
