This company began in about 1945 as the Torq Electric Manufacturing Co. of Cleveland, and by 1948 was the Torq Electric Corp. of Bedford, Ohio. The company was active until at least 1966. They primarily made fractional horsepower electric motors, and they also made the "Grindmaster" bench grinder.

The founder seems to have been Joseph Greenhut, but evidence is thin.
