"Fifth Annual Report of the Indiana State Board of Agriculture", 1857, lists "A reciprocating cross-cut saw, was exhibited by H. F. Wilson, of Elyria, Ohio. It may be made useful, and we therefore give it a diploma." This invention was written up in the 1857-09-12 Scientific American, which concludes, "For further information, address Messr. Willson & West, Elyria, Loraine, county, Ohio, who are constructing machines, and are prepared to receive orders for them." The 1860-07-01 Ohio Cultivator carries an ad from West & Wilson (sic) Mfg. Co. |
