The innovations are a system for supplying water or other lubricant to the cutting tool, a main frame supporting a sliding frame that holds the motor and cutter, and an arrangement of friction disks and gears that push the sliding frame forward; in addition the entire mechanism had provisions to keep out water and dust. So far as we know, this design was not manufactured, but less than a decade later the inventor would establish a series of companies to manufacture his motors and drilling machines. |
