In 1921 William B. Durgin Co. manufactured "Crawford" induction motors and buffer-grinders, which were named after the company's superintendent and motor designer, John J. Crawford. In 1921 their sole selling agent, L. E. Wooten Co., Inc., of New York City, purchased the business and re-incorporated it as the Crawford Manufacturing Co.; see that entry for more information.
