The original company was Foley Saw Tool Co., which was succeeded by Foley Manufacturing Co. in Sept. 1929. They merged with Belsaw Machinery Co. in 1982 (date under research) to became Foley-Belsaw Co., and then split again into Belsaw Co. and Foley-United Co.

This company made sharpening machinery. Secondary products included a line of rotary lawn mowers in the 1950s and another of kitchen utensils beginning in 1934. They also put their name on a line of home-shop woodworking machines that were made by another Minneapolis maker, Tomlee Tool & Engineering Co. (or by Tomlee's successor, Toro Manufacturing Corp.)
