AKA Savages of St Nicholas Works
Founded in 1850 by Frederick Savage. By 1863 the firm was known as St. Nicholas Works. The firm began manufacturing Steam Traction Engines in 1857 and reorganized as the Savage Brothers in 1880. In 1893 the company incorporated under the name, Frederick Savage & Co. and in 1898 became Savage Brothers.
